I have great pleasure in welcoming you to the Fairfield website which I hope will provide you with an insight into the school, its history, ethos, aims and values.
At the heart of our school lies the belief that every child is a unique individual; our aim is to nurture the potential within our pupils and encourage every child to develop his or her abilities and talents to the full.
In creating a secure, happy and purposeful environment, we aim to encourage each child to flourish, so that when he or she leaves us at the end of Year 6, they do so with high levels of self-confidence, self-esteem and a set of values which will equip them to deal with future challenges. Our values are based on mutual respect, tolerance and consideration towards others and within our vibrant community each child finds his or her own unique place.
Whilst we achieve excellent examination results, enabling our pupils to move on with confidence at the end of Key Stage 2 to the senior school of their choice, we believe education is about far more than examinations; our children learn to become part of a community, they develop confidence, opinions and an understanding of the modern world. We also provide a broad programme of extra-curricular activities and have close links with the local community.
Our website can only provide a snapshot of Fairfield; I hope that it will encourage you to visit us to see our school at work and play and experience the atmosphere that makes our community so special. I look forward to welcoming you.
Jack from the Animal Lecture Service brought in three animals for the children to see: a barn owl; a skunk; and a giant millipede called Millicent who came from Africa.
Year 2 went back in time and became Victorian school children for the day. One of the “delights” of the day was tasting gruel!
The Fairfield Flag was given to the school by Mrs Brown on her retirement. The flag will be flown to celebrate the children’s birthdays!
Unfortunately, the school closed for three days due to the bad weather. The children made the most of the remaining snow on their return to school!
